Congratulations to Gwen L of year 7 who made it through to the state finals of the Prime Minister’s Spelling Bee.

Participating in the Prime Minister’s Spelling Bee was a truly amazing experience for me.  I was proud to make it through to the state finals. One of the factors that made it more enjoyable was the weekly spelling meetings with Ms. Dunkley leading up to the competition. It was really fun meeting up with the other participants to expand our vocabulary together. Besides that, the spelling bee by itself, was an exciting experience. It provides an abundant amount of satisfaction when you spell the words correctly under the time limit. The best thing is anyone in Year 7 and 8 can participate, you don’t have to be highly accomplished in English to be able to enter the competition. There is always room to grow and new words to learn. I definitely can’t wait to participate in the Prime Minister’s Spelling Bee again next year!
