Year 5/6 Cluster News Term 4 Week 8
Home Inquiry:
Read for 20 minutes. Reading is to be recorded in student diaries with the book title, page numbers read, and the time read.
Shirts
Students have completed designing shirts for next year. The shirts have been voted on and we will now begin the process of working with the graphic designer to finalise the design. T-shirts will be ready for sizing from Monday, Week 8.
Literacy
This week students have started their final writing piece for this year. They have created a Christmas village for Inquiry and will be writing a piece that realtes to this. Information regarding this can be found on Microsoft Teams.
Inquiry
This week, students have begun a new learning experience which will develop their understanding of electrical circuits. Students are working in groups to design a community building for a Christmas village. They will work through the design process this week and spend next week constructing the village.
Maths
Students have completed their work related to order of operations. Next week, students will be engaging in a range of problem solving and Christmas related Maths problems.
End of Year HOYTS Excursion
As part of our end of year celebration, Year 5 and 6 students will be going to HOYTS to watch the movie Trolls. Please ensure that permission forms are returned and that you have pre-ordered snacks for your child (if desired) via Qkr. Orders in Qkr must be completed by December the 1st. Lunch will be provided on the day with orders being completed at school.

Graduation Service
On Wednesday the 13th of December, we will have our graduation service for our Year 6 students. The service will be an opportunity to celebrate our Year 6 students and their time at GGLPS. The service will begin at 7pm.
Just a reminder students need to have a fully charged iPad, a keyboard, headphones, hat and a drink bottle every day.
