Year 1/2 Cluster News Term 4 Week 8

Please apply sunscreen andensure hats and water bottles are sent to school every day. 

Swimming notes:

 have been sent home. Please make sure you complete all pages before returning them to school. Swimming lessons are is Tuesday – Friday in Week 8.  

You must email your class teacher by Monday 4th December if you intend to pick your child up from the pool so we can organize their school bag to come with them. If you are picking them up, please be out the front of the swimming centre by 1:30pm. 

Reminder: students are not to order lunch orders this week due to having different eating times. Students will need to bring their school bag each day with their take home folder as we will be sending things home still and they will have lots of craft. They will need another plastic bag or small swim bag with a towel, spare knickers, goggles, swim shoes(thongs), swimming cap or ear plugs if they need it.  

Library:

Borrowing has no finished for the year. Please ensure all books are returned as soon as possible.

Books:  

We will be sending books and craft home in take home folders in Week 8. Please take everything out of the take home pouches each night to ensure they don’t keep bringing them back to school. Please note some items will be kept at school and moved up into new classes.  

Stationery   

Any stationery remaining will either be kept at school and passed on to your child’s new teacher or sent home with books. We will let you know what this is before you order for the new year.  

Take home books - There are changes being made which will be communicated with you shortly. 

There no longer borrowing from the reader room this year. We highly encourage families to continue supporting children to read over the holidays. Research has shown that children can lose skills and regress over the holidays if they don’t read regularly. Reading can be supported by joining your local council library which is free and offers amazing resources. Books can be shared through reading by and with children. 

Term 4: Week 8 Program Learning 

This week we will be consolidating our learning, swimming and beginning some Christmas crafts.
