From the Principal

Can you believe we have come to the end of the school year!

I hope you enjoy this final school newsletter for 2023 as we celebrate the many exciting events that have happened at ARPS in the last fortnight: School Concert, Foundation – Year 2 Swimming, Year 4 Doxa Camp, Whole School Transition Day, Year 6 Graduation and Celebration, Dux Awards and the announcement of our 2024 Student Leaders.

Well done to all our students who received a Dux award, Most Improved and/or Encouragement Award at our special assembly yesterday. You should be very proud of your achievements in 2023. No matter the award, each reflects your strengths and contributions and serves as an inspiration to others. We celebrate not only the end result but the journey and effort that led to your accomplishment. Congratulations!

Congratulations to our 2024 Student Leaders. Student Leadership is not just about holding a position; it's about working collaboratively with a positive and growth mindset and embodying the RICH values that make our school community exceptional. I have no doubt that our newly elected 2024 student leaders will lead by example and contribute to the vibrant and inclusive environment that defines our school. I look forward to seeing your leadership skills develop next year!

To the Year 6 Graduates of 2023: as you embark on the next phase of your academic journey, remember to value and appreciate your own individual uniqueness.  Embrace challenges as opportunities for growth. Your potential is limitless, and as you step into the wider world, I hope you do so with confidence and a sense of purpose. It's okay to make mistakes and it's normal to have doubts and fears, but what's important is that you keep believing in yourself. As you leave Athol Road PS, be brave and keep your heart and mind open to all the possibilities and opportunities that life brings. Congratulations once again, Year 6 graduates! May your futures be bright, your dreams be bold, and your journey be filled with joy, success, and fulfilment.

To the ARPS Community: I wish you all the best for a safe and happy holiday period. May the time you spend with family and friends be joyous and filled with all the things you enjoy!

Remember: school starts back on Wednesday 31st January for Year 1 - Year 6 students and Thursday 1st February for the Foundation students. See you all in 2024!
