HAVE YOU ENROLLED YOUR CHILD FOR PREP 2025?
If you have a child ready for Prep 2025, we encourage you to please put in an enrolment form as soon as possible. This will help us with organisation purposes. To access an enrolment form:
Being aware of Paul’s absence in Semester 2 School Leadership has restructured its leadership team roles and responsibilities, and in some cases face to face role allocations.
Please refer below to the changes that will be in place for Semester 2.
Nicole Black - Acting Principal - Nicole has been appointed by Melbourne Archdiocese Schools (MACS) as the Acting Principal of St Andrew’s School for the second half of the school year. We congratulate Nicole on her appointment.
Grade 1/2 L (Thursday) - Lucy Levett will be released from the classroom for an additional day, a Thursday, to fulfill an additional leadership role for the second half of the school year. Throughout Semester 2, Lucy has been appointed as the school’s Junior School Enhancement Leader. Lucy is currently the school’s Maths Leader.
Lucy’s class will be taught by Jenny Stewart each Thursday and Friday throughout Term 3 and 4. Jenny Stewart is well known to our school through her work in various classroom teaching roles over a number of years. Jenny will be onsite at St Andrew’s school each Wednesday to Friday, importantly allowing for a weekly ‘handover time’ from Lucy on a Wednesday to ensure a continuity of learning and care on a Thursday and Friday.
Grade 1/2L parents please note that Jenny Stewart will be on leave for the period of 8 work days from August 8 to September 4. Jenny had previously booked to travel overseas for this period of time.
Grade 5/6 C (Friday) - Rosario Corio has been appointed as the school’s Liturgy Leader for the second semester. Rosario will support the school leadership team with the role of preparing and leading all school liturgies/masses. Rosario will be released from the classroom on a Friday to fulfill the commitments involved in his role.
Rosario will take on the role as previously covered by Nicole Black as our Religious Education Leader. Nicole will take on the role as Acting Principal throughout the second semester.
Kayla Puetz will be teaching 5/6C on a Friday.
Physical Education - As previously advised, Kayla Puetz was appointed as the school’s Physical Education teacher throughout the last 4 weeks of term 2.
Kayla continues the P.E. role and class teacher of 5/6C on a Friday throughout Semester 2. Kayla took on the P.E. role after Beth Kromer’s return home to Canada at the end of May.
The process for the selection of a Principal, appointed from January 2025, has commenced. School Leadership has met with Jen Hawkins, Senior Manager School Leadership, Melbourne Archdiocese Schools, throughout the past month to establish the Principal Selection Panel. Two members of the school parent community, a current Catholic Education principal from the Southern Region, Fr Joe and Jen Hawkins will form the Principal appointment panel.
Jen Hawkins, MACS, met with School Advisory Council (SAC) members at the previous meeting in May. Jen explained the appointment process and also gained feedback from SAC members on what key characteristics are sought after in a newly appointed principal at St Andrew’s School. Jen will also meet with the school staff in July to gain their feedback in regards to the characteristics they see as essential in the school’s new leader.
The Principal Appointment Panel will meet throughout Term 3 and it is anticipated that the appointment of a principal will be made either in late Term 3 or early term 4.
Teaching staff will be released on the afternoon of Monday 24th June to commence their ‘Three Way Interviews’.
Children remaining at school for the afternoon block will be grouped in levels and supervised by staff who are not required at these Interviews.
Parents attending interviews may collect their child/ren from these level gatherings.
Parents do have the option of collecting their child/ren from their classroom at 1.25pm.
Collection of children assists staff by reducing the number of children being present in the afternoon block.
Please inform your child’s class teacher in writing if you plan to collect your child from school at this early time. Parents do not need to sign out from the school office on this day. Your written notification will be a record of student early exits.
Please make your booking now for the Semester 1 Parent/Child/Teacher Interviews. Interviews will be 10 minutes and held in the School Hall on Monday 24th June between 2.30pm and 7.00pm.

We encourage all children to be active participants in the 10 minute interviews. This provides an opportunity for children to share their learning journey and successes with their family and to also be active responsible participants in their own learning.
Semester 1 Student Reports will be distributed to families on Friday 21st June.
The Semester 1, 2024 reports will be distributed on Friday 21st June via the nForma Parent Portal. Student reports are one of the valuable links between school and home to allow you to gain an insight of how your child is progressing with their learning at St Andrew’s.
To access the Semester 1 Report:
If you have not received the email in your inbox, please check your junk/spam folders. If you experience any further difficulties accessing your child’s report, you are encouraged to contact Emma Cooper on ecooper@saclaytonsth.catholic.edu.au
We warmly invite all families to our end of term Learning Celebration to be held next Thursday 27th June. The children look forward to welcoming you to their classrooms and demonstrating to you the fabulous learning that they have undertaken throughout Term 2.
The children invite family & friends into their rooms between 2.45pm - 3.30pm on Thursday 22nd June.
Our Learning Celebrations will take place at the end of each term of the school year.

The 2024 School Calendar is available on the School Website. It can be found mid-way down on the front page under the heading ‘WHAT’S ON’. We will endeavour, where possible, to remain true to the dates on the 2024 calendar. We would recommend that parents make a regular visit to the school website to see updates on all school events.
