Lifted Events
As part of developing Faith formation in schools across the Parramatta Diocese, Catholic Youth Parramatta (CYP) in partnership with the CSPD Mission Enhancement Team recently facilitated two Lifted events for students in the diocese.
Lifted faith events provide an avenue for young people to join together in community, connect with others and explore their faith and spirituality in a supportive environment. By attending Lifted events, students and staff celebrate their faith through live music performances performed by the Lifted band.
Along with 300 students across the Diocese, ten students from Stage 4 attended Lifted LIVE and ten students in Stage 5 attended Unleashed events at West HQ in Rooty Hill.
Throughout the day, the students heard inspiring messages and core teachings, took part in engaging activities, workshops and discussions. They were also able to connect with like-minded peers and make new friends, gaining a sense of belonging and community.
The dynamic day provided an opportunity for music, personal reflection and listening to testimony from guest speakers about their experiences of faith and recognising the Holy Spirit in our daily lives. Students left feeling uplifted, inspired, and motivated to make a positive impact in their world!
Some students reflections:
Stage 4 - Angelina Gibson
“The Lifted event was empowering and helped me build on my faith journey. I loved collaborating with other schools and joining in with the songs they taught us.”
Stage 5 - Tania Jacob
“The Lifted event was a great opportunity to take time and reflect on our own faith journey with God. It was really fun especially the worship and action songs and really got me enthusiastic about my faith again.”
