June 21st  - The Winter Solstice

Today is the shortest day of the year and we’ve been talking about Winter officially starting today. We often celebrate the day with a bonfire/burning of green waste. The sun rose today at 7:36am and it should set at 5:08pm.

It’s a great time to plant a deciduous fruit tree like mulberry, fig, or stone fruit.
