Term 2, week 11

About this week-

It was planning week this week, so our regular schedule was slightly different. We did not have our specialists at our usual times, but did get to have these sessions on Tuesday when the classroom teacher went to plan for term 3. Our portfolios went home and reports were also made available on Friday. The portfolios are an amazing snapshot of your child’s progress throughout this Semester and really show the growth they have made as a learner.

Literacy-

We are getting very close to finalising the alphabet, as we met two new characters and letters. The students met ‘Kylie the Koala’ for the letter k and ‘Max the Fox’ for the letter x. We got to make awesome craft for both of these letters. Our koalas looked amazing and we got to make Max the Fox’s face with our buddies on Thursday afternoon. The preps thoroughly enjoyed doing craft with their buddies. We have begun writing sentences in class and looking at some stage 4 books, which have words like box, wax and fox in them.

Numeracy-

In numeracy we have been consolidating much of our part-part-whole knowledge and revising teen numbers with a bunch of hands-on activities and games. We will continue to revise the topics we have learnt in numeracy throughout the term in the final week.

Reminder-

It is also Milo the Monkey’s Surprise Birthday party on the final day of school for the term, Friday June 28th. An invitation with details about this was sent home with readers and will also be attached to this email.
