Special Police Band Visit and Musical Collaboration

Dear Parents, Students, and Staff,

Last week was one of the best weeks ever at Roselea Public School! We had the amazing opportunity to meet and spend time with The NSW Police Band who visited our school for a workshop and concert.

The Musical Highlight

The best part of the Police Band visit was when our Concert Band teamed up with the police officers for a musical performance. The officers brought their own instruments and ran a workshop with our band, working through some of the wonderful pieces our band has been working on. After a short rehearsal, we all played together, mixing classic tunes and popular hits. We were also lucky enough to hear the Police Band perform some pieces on their own and explain their instruments to us.

Seeing the officers and students play music together was so inspiring and showed how much we can achieve when we work together. The performance was perfect, thanks to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved. All the K-6 students got to watch, and it was a truly special moment.

Ryde East Music Festival

In other news, I’m thrilled to share that our three bands participated in the Ryde East Music Festival on Sunday 23rd June. Our Training Band achieved a remarkable Gold award, while the Junior Band earned a well-deserved Silver. I'm incredibly proud that our Concert Band, including myself, also received a Silver for our performance.

It was such an exhilarating experience for all of us. We're bursting with pride over our bands' achievements and grateful for the chance to showcase our musical talents on such a grand stage.

Warm regards,

Ronika - Concert Band Percussionist
