RE NEWS
A special visitor came to Sacred Heart on Tuesday to meet the students in Year 4/5 & 5/6 to talk about the Sacraments of Initiation. Bishop Terry Curtin spoke to the children who answered his questions and took part in discussions in a thoughtful and interested manner. Marty and I were very proud of the way the students engaged in the experience with Bishop Terry. We are looking forward to seeing Bishop Terry again on Friday 26th July at the Sacrament of Confirmation.
During the first days of Term 3, I will be sending a note out to children in Year 3-6 who would be available to sing as part of the choir at Confirmation. As it is on a Friday night, the school is solely responsible for the celebration. We would need students from 6.45pm until 8pm.
It would be great to have some students from the choir joining Marty and I for this special occasion.
WELLBEING NEWS
Dear Families,
Congratulations on making it to the end of a very long term!
I wish the children a wonderful break that provides a chance to rest and recharge, especially after the wintery illnesses many of our students, families and teachers have faced.
The holidays might provide some time to refresh with your child the importance of washing hands and good hygiene when they are unwell. It doesn't seem that long ago we were singing songs about hand washing during Covid; it is still important to teach our children this as we are only just at the beginning of the cold and flu winter season!
I look forward to seeing everyone in Term Three - have a wonderful break!
Take Care,
Kate Harris
