Principal News

Dear Sacred Heart Community,

Prayer

I would like to take this opportunity to wish our school community a safe and relaxing break. I hope you can spend some quality time with your family, and if you are travelling, that you return home safely. Stay warm and drink lots of hot soup!!!! This last week of school, winter has really hit with many students, staff and parents succumbing to coughs and colds. As I comment at the end of each term, I would like to again on behalf of our staff, thank you for your willingness to work with us, so we can give our students, your precious children, the best opportunity to continue to grow into the people you wish for them to be.

Before And After School Care - Survey

We are looking at the feasibility of changing our Out of School Care Provider. I would really appreciate parents who currently use the service and those who may in the future, especially with a new provider, to complete the survey (link attached). Data we obtain will allow us to make a more informed decision (ie. entice a new provider!) The survey will close on the Friday 19th July which is at the end of the first week back next term.

Meet Some Of Our New Students In Foundation Class 2025

Meet Dharshith and Jacob, two of our Foundation Class 2025 members. They both have older siblings at our school, Dharshith an older brother Nirav and Jacob an older sister Madelyn who I am sure will be very helpful  with their transition to school next year.

Principal/Deputy Principal For The Day

On Tuesday our Year One students Stella and Abigail were Acting Principal and Acting Deputy Principal for the day. Stella chose to be Principal For The Day, as a reward for her great playground behaviour. Just like me, Stella knew she needed a good Deputy Principal to help her with the running of the school and chose her good friend Abigail. Both girls were kept busy making many announcements during the day. They did such a great job I am worried about my tenure as Principal.

Art Show

(Pictures of artwork dispayed in 2022)

Our biennial art show is happening again this year. We are giving the show the title -

“Around The World Stories” exhibition. It will take place on Thursday 12th September after school at a time to be confirmed. Like our biennial school concert, the art show showcases our students creative and visual art talents. Please put the date in your diary.

School Closure Days Term Three

As we did not have any school closure days for staff professional development this term we will have two days next term.We ask parents to be aware of the second day we have added for next term, which is Wednesday 31st July.

Parent Helpers Program

Our staff are so grateful to our classroom helpers who give their precious time to assist teachers. Classroom helpers listen to our students read, assist with their writing and help with numeracy skills. Here Glenn dad of Natalie, helps out with our Year Four/Five class. If you would like to become a classroom helper please see Antoinette.

YLV News  and  Holiday Program

I have been able to get the assistance of a YLV  manager, Karen Nava (Area Manager) to look into the issues parents are having with billing for After School Care services. I have passed on the most recent emails from parents. If you have any issues with billing please send me an email so I can pass it onto Karen.

Instrumental Music Program

Please see below the new enrolment form for the school keyboard/guitar lessons that are offered on a Tuesday during school hours. Davide's free trial may be of interest to parents whose children are not currently part of the instrumental music program.
