Prep Update

Upcoming learning: Term 2 Weeks 10 & 11

During the next fortnight, Prep students will be undertaking learning in the following areas:

Reading	Students will engage in daily phonics lessons, focusing on the letters/sounds of /k/, /x/ and /w/ following the Little Learners Love Literacy sequence. Students will explore picture story books by particular authors such as Allison Lester and Julia Donaldson.
Writing	Students will learn the correct letter formation of the letter's /k/, /x/ and /w/. They will also develop their understanding of sentences and begin to write their own sentences using picture prompts and familiar events.
Maths	Week 10- Students will investigating 3D objects. Week 11-Students will revise some of the concepts covered this term.
Inquiry	Our topic this term is 'Change'. Students will revise and reflect on their learning from this term relating to natural and man made changes.
Social and Emotional	Students will investigate how they can demonstrate respect by listening to others and explore the qualities of a good friend.

Please return all library books. There will be no borrowing in the last week of term to give the library staff time to sort and organise the library ready for Term 3.
Milo's Surprise Birthday- Wednesday 26th June. To celebrate the learning of our sounds with Little Learners Love Literacy, students will participate in a day of fun activities centred around our Little Learners characters and Milo’s birthday. This is a free event and the students do not need to bring anything extra for this day.
Pyjama Day- Thursday 27th June. Students are encouraged to wear their pyjamas and bring a gold coin donation to help raise funds for the RSPCA. Please ensure your child wears appropriate footwear for the day.
Last day of Term 2 - Friday 28th June. Students will finish school at 2.30pm.
