Principal's Report

Dear Parents, Guardians and Friends of Nazareth

Last Thursday we celebrated our Mass for Social Justice, along with members of the St Anthony's St Vincent de Paul Conference.

The main message was that each and everyone of us are capable of  helping those in need.  This was demonstrated with the food and toiletry items collected by our student Vinnies volunteers and donated by members of our community.  This food and toiletries has be accepted by the St Anthony's St Vincent de Paul Conference members and will soon be be distributed to the needy in our community.  This will make a significant difference to many families.

I thank our staff for supporting the Social Justice Leaders, Julie Hoang and Abbie Diaz, and the 50+ Vinnies student members.  Together, they have shown the link between faith and action.

Father Joel Peart, the Assistant Priest at St Simon's and St Jude's, celebrated the Mass and challenged us to open  our hearts, just like Mary.  He invited us to partake in the Sacraments and to be of service and assist those in need.  'Be generous in responding to issues of social injustices locally, nationally and internationally.'

In responding to this we are inviting any students or families that, for whatever reason, have missed the Sacraments of Initiation, Reconciliation, Communion or Confirmation to please register your interest.  in the near future you will receive an intention form via PAM or your child to register to partake in this  program.

Finally, I take this opportunity to remind everyone that we are fast approaching the end of the semester with exams, Work Experience and work requirements due to be completed.  In our endeavour to continue our improvements,  students will be asked to complete all requirements.  In the event that work is outstanding those students will return on a Student Free day to complete whatever is unfinished.

In your interest.

Mr Sam Cosentino

Principal
