Year 12
In between studying diligently, work placements and filling their heads with knowledge in the classrooms, the Year 12 cohort are making memories of their final year at Baimbridge.
Term 3 has flown by so quickly; it has been a term full of fun memories as we get through the days we have left together as a cohort. The VCE students are still persevering with studies to complete our last few SACs before the end of term, ready for Term 4 and the big Exams. The VM students are busy juggling work placement, class work, and group projects around the school to make it a better place. On the 2nd August, the VM students organised Jeans for Genes, a gold coin fundraising day where we all came to school in jeans to raise money for the campaign to build awareness of the daily challenges faced by those living with a genetic condition.
Our Lasts
This year has been full of our lasts representing Baimbridge College, this term our lasts were:
Boys Basketball:
Win or lose they had fun, some of the Year 12 boys tried their best with the lack of training they were able to have leading up to the tournament. In the end, they lost all their games. Although they were inexperienced, they put up a fight against some of the better players in the region and had an enjoyable time.
Senior Girls Netball:
On the 31st of July, (a surprisingly warm day), some of the Year 12 girls, alongside some Year 11’s made their way to Pedrina Park for the School Netball Tournament to play against the other local schools, as well as schools from Portland and Ballarat. With a couple of injuries and sicknesses leading up to the day, the team never had a training session with all the players present and fit. So, we took the court as a new team and ended the day as a formidable team that worked well together, coming home with a win.
Senior Girls Footy:
On Monday 12th August, the senior girls went to Pedrina Park to play School Footy against other local High schools. Although we were short of a few players we gave it a red-hot crack, kicking more goals than the senior boys when they played school footy. Even though we lost all our games, we didn’t lose by much which showed that we did pretty well considering most of us haven’t had the opportunity to play footy.
Our cohort has also had many opportunities to help with our learning and future, this term we were lucky enough to be visited by a few guest speakers from Deakin Uni to help us understand about Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) applications and what we are eligible to apply for. We also have the opportunity to go to Horsham for English Lectures, featuring VCAA Assessors and expert teachers who will provide us with information to benefit and help prepare us for our exams.
First letter of your name
On the 15th of August, we dressed up as something that starts with the first letter of our name. It was fun to see everyone’s creativity and effort.

Anything but a bag
On the 6th of September we had "Anything but a bag" day. Students bought in items like
Year 12 students completed their last day of school on Thursday 24th of October.
