Holy Trinity Expansion
It was great to announce that Holy Trinity School, Inverell will be expanding to include year 11 & 12. The first year 11 cohort will commence in 2026 with the first year 12 class finishing the HSC in 2027.
The school community has long advocated for the benefits of providing year 11 and 12 students with the same high-quality contemporary Catholic education that they receive in K–10. The 2 year continuation of Catholic education will strengthen students’ ongoing connection and sense of belonging to their familiar Catholic school-parish community.
It is such an exciting time for our system and the Inverell community to offer this choice to our young people and their families. Holy Trinity is well set up to offer stage 6 education, with outstanding facilities, great staff and a supportive community for students to finish their education in a Catholic context. Recognition of Service
During school visits, I have been able to recognise staff members' service at Holy Trinity and St Joseph’s Glen Innes. At Holy Trinity, I presented Recognition of Service awards to staff members: Margaret Mitchell (15 years), Claudia Dolbel (20 Years), Robyn Cronin (25 years), Kim Bailey (25 years) and Malynda Hiscock (25 years) and at St Joseph’s, Glen Innes to Beatrice Baker (10 years).
Thank you and congratulations for your service to our young people and our school communities.
School Visits
It has been great to be able to visit a number of schools so far this term including St Mary of the Angels, Guyra where I had the pleasure of hearing kindergarten students read me their writing about the Gruffalo (one of my favourite books). At St Joseph’s Glen Innes, it was great to see calm classrooms with so much evidence of learning occurring. It was great to see students co-constructing success criteria. What great learning communities our schools are! The hard work of our staff in supporting our students to realise a hope-filled future is valued greatly.
On Friday, I attended St Joseph's, Quirindi Mini Olympics. How wonderful to see everyone get so involved in the variety of activities. Congratulations to Pauline Long and all the staff for providing such a fun day for the students. The students represented countries where some of the students are from, including Nepal and India, and of course France the host nation. The day included a presentation from each country with the National Anthem, march past, war cries, and lots of fun sport activities.
