Senior School
As we approach the business end of the year, where students complete SACs and assessment tasks in preparation for their final examinations, we remind our students of the importance academics play at Oakleigh Grammar. In the semester gone, we have celebrated sporting achievements at the House Swimming and Athletics as well as the EISM Championship events while also successfully competing in the NSE games. Our Pastoral focus is always paramount with Camps in Year 11 and 12 being completed as well as several exciting programs during our Pastoral sessions. That being said, it is crucial that we remind our students that one of the most important facets of our school is academic growth.
To those students that weren’t able to achieve at the level they had hoped, Term 3 is a fresh start and the beginning of new Units. Those that achieved at the level they were hoping for, time to look at how you can extend those grades for your final examinations at the end of the year, and those that achieved above and beyond what they had hoped, well done to you, keep on striving for greatness.
While academic excellence is where we place great emphasis, it is also through the pastoral program that we see our students flourish. It was a pleasure to be part of the Year 12 Formal, the final social event of the year where students had an opportunity to enjoy an evening of laughter, comradery, good food and dancing. The night was a success and all that attended had a great time.
Students are reminded to seek advice and ask for help as they complete their work in this busy term. Year 11 have the added excitement of their Year 11 Formal which is looking to be an excellent event, while our Year 10 cohort look forward to their Camp towards the end of this term.
Best wishes
