Child Safety & Wellbeing: Creating Safe Spaces
Grade Prep and One
In Week 7, our students will participate in a Wellbeing lesson centered on Child Safety. The theme we will be exploring with the Preps and Ones is Help Seeking. This will build on the knowledge and understanding the students have been exploring through our Wellbeing Unit on Help Seeking. The student focus of the lesson will be to:
RECOGNISE safe and unsafe situations and body clues.
REACT to keep ourselves safe.
REPORT unsafe situations.
Grade Two, Three and Four
In Week 7, our students will participate in a Wellbeing lesson centered on Child Safety. The theme this year for ABCSL is Safe Spaces, emphasising how we can create safer environments for children in both their online and offline spaces.
The lesson objectives for Grade Three and Four is to teach students to think critically about the environments they are in, helping them to confidently recognise, react to, and report unsafe situations. This lesson will build on the knowledge and skills the students have gained through the Inform and Empower workshops.
Grade Five and Six
In Week 7, our students will participate in a Wellbeing lesson centered on Child Safety. The theme this year for ABCSL is Safe Spaces, emphasising how we can create safer environments for children in both their online and offline spaces. This lesson will build on the knowledge and skills the students have gained through the Inform and Empower workshops.
The lesson content for Grade Five and Six explores how chatbots and AI companions can influence children’s lives and the spaces where they spend time. The main objective is to teach students to think critically about the environments they are in, helping them to confidently recognise, react to, and report unsafe situations or concerning behavior.

We've partnered with the expert Children and Parenting Support Service unit from the Salvation Army to bring this valuable, one-off session right here to our school.
