Lucy

Dear BSPS families,
It is with equal measures of happiness and sadness that I’m writing to let you know we will farewell the inimitable Lucy Curatolo at the end of this term. After many years of inspiring students and colleagues alike, Lucy is retiring from teaching.
Lucy has brought colour, laughter and heart to her teaching; her passione italiana shining through in all she does; passionate about bilingual learning, a fierce champion of Italian language and culture, and a believer in the power of teatro e musica to build confidence, creativity and connection. Her classroom has always been a place for every child to feel valued, empowered to be themselves, and to take risks in their learning.
Over the years, Lucy has shared so much more than her expertise. She has brought kindness, humour and heart to our school every single day. She has created unforgettable learning experiences for students, collaborated with her colleagues generously, and built strong relationships with families.
What better day than World Teacher’s Day to share this news with our community; as we reflect on the teachers who shaped us as children, and the colleagues we’ve admired as educators. Lucy is the perfect example of this.
Lucy, grazie di cuore for your dedication, your leadership in bilingual education, and your deep care for our community. Your impact will continue to shape us long after the last “chika boom”!
There will be an opportunity to celebrate Lucy and thank her for her extraordinary contribution to education and to our school at an upcoming event - details to follow. We look forward to Lucy remaining involved in our community as a CRT. We won’t let her go that easily!
