Principal's Message

Every Student Matters

Hello everyone,

As we approach the end of 2025, I want to take a moment to reflect on what an incredible year it has been. We’ve celebrated milestones, embraced challenges, and continued to focus on what matters most—helping every student grow and succeed.

While the year is winding down, our commitment to teaching and learning remains strong. Headstart is underway, transitions are happening, and we’re already laying the foundations for a successful 2026. Thank you for partnering with us on this journey—your support makes all the difference.

Graduation Celebration

Last Wednesday was a highlight—our Year 12 Graduation Ceremony. Over 500 people joined us to celebrate this milestone, and it was fantastic to see families, grandparents, and extended relatives all together. Thank you to everyone who helped make the evening so special. Congratulations to our graduates—you’ve made us proud!

Farewell to Year 11

Today, we say goodbye to our Year 11 students as they complete their two weeks of Headstart after study camp. They are well-prepared for a strong start in 2026, and we look forward to welcoming them back as Year 12 students for their final year.

Clontarf Academy Awards

Last week we celebrated the achievements of students in the Clontarf Academy. This special evening acknowledged all academy students and recognised those who excelled in academics, sport, or lived true to the values of our College and the Academy. Congratulations to all award recipients, and a heartfelt thank you to Turk, James, Damo and Matt for their dedication and commitment.

Art Showcase

On Friday 14th November, our Art KLA hosted a stunning exhibition of senior student work. The showcase featured diverse media—2D and 3D art, painting, metals, visual communication and pottery and a drama performance—highlighting the creativity and talent within our College. Congratulations to our students and the staff who supported them!  Please head over to the Art page of this newsletter for more photos.

Student Voice and Leadership

Last night, I had the privilege of working with our School Council, Executive Team, College Captains, and 2026 Student Leaders in a session focused on student needs for our Annual Implementation Plan. The energy and ideas shared were inspiring, and I look forward to sharing these insights with the BSC community in 2026.

Year 10 Adventures

Today our Year 10 students celebrated their last day before stepping into Headstart next week as Year 11 students with a fun day at Gumbuya World—we can’t wait to hear all about their adventures!

Transition and Headstart

Next week, the remaining year levels begin their transition: Year 7 to 8, Year 8 to 9, and so on. This is an exciting time, but we understand it can also feel overwhelming for some students. If you or your child have any questions or concerns about Headstart, please contact your hub staff for support.

We’re also excited to welcome our 2026 Year 7 students to the College on Tuesday 9th December. They’ll be participating in a two-day orientation program designed to help them feel confident and connected as they begin their secondary school journey. We can’t wait to meet our newest members of the BSC community!

Please check the Dates to remember and events page of our newsletter for key dates. The next few weeks are filled with exciting activities and opportunities, and we look forward to sharing them with you.

I’ll share one final update before the year closes, but for now, thank you for being such an important part of our College community. Your involvement and encouragement make a real difference.

Sincerely,
