Students have been delving deeper into their term topics in Indonesian this fortnight.
Prep students are learning about pets and counting how many they have. Years 1 and 2 are learning about traditional Indonesian clothing and writing short sentences. Years 3 and 4 are completing their book pages, creating sentences about how they travel to school, and Years 5 and 6 are comparing city and rural life in Indonesia and exploring the different environments found there.
It’s been great to see students building their vocabulary and confidence in using Indonesian.

Over the past fortnight, students across the school have been busy preparing for our upcoming Christmas Concert. Each class has been learning a festive song and working on choreography to bring their performance to life. Students have been practising how to sing together as an ensemble, listen for musical cues, and add movement to match the style and meaning of their song.
It has been wonderful to see students showing confidence, teamwork, and enthusiasm as they rehearse. There is a real buzz in the Performing Arts room as students proudly share their ideas, support one another, and refine their performances.
As we head into the final weeks of the year, it’s amazing to see how quickly the time has passed. Our students have grown so much in creativity, courage, and collaboration. We look forward to celebrating that growth together at our Christmas Concert very soon.

Year 1 & 2
Our Year 1 and 2 students have been taking part in a hockey unit. We used pool noodles and gator skin balls to explore different ways in which to dribble, trap, and pass the ball. The students thoroughly enjoyed learning these new skills and were able to then apply them to minor one versus one games, where they umpired themselves, and modified and created rules to suit their own needs. I was especially proud of the way in which the children managed to conduct their own games.
Year 5 & 6
Our PE sessions for the fortnight was very, very wet, so we moved indoors to complete a fitness circuit. Students worked in pairs to complete a variety of exercises promoting cardio vascular fitness and overall body strength. One student performed the exercises for one minute while the other acted as a personal trainer, encouraging and providing positive feedback to improve performances. Our upper students did a great job, and then set to work to design their own fitness circuits. Well done!
Senior Girls Regional Hooptime
Congratulations to our Senior Girls All Star Basketball Team on their outstanding efforts on their performance at the Regional Hooptime Competition last Thursday. The girls were undefeated in their pool and were successful in winning their semi-final game against St. Annes. Unfortunately, we found Sacred Heart and Sandringham challenging opponents in the Grand Final and were defeated.
Our team of Jade, Ivy, Gizelle, Imogen, Charlee, Zoe, Ashlea W, and Chloe P gave their very best all day and certainly were fantastic representatives for our school.
A very special thankyou to Jordan K for his outstanding coaching and Amanda L for scoring. Without this assistance, we could not participate in these special events.

Congratulations to Audrey S in 1A, our Science Talent Search 2025 Minor Bursary Winner! We are so proud of Audrey’s achievement and her dedication to science learning and creativity. A big thank you to all our Science Talent Search entrants for their hard work, curiosity, and innovative ideas, you represented our school wonderfully!
Over the past fortnight, students across all levels have been busy exploring habitats and ecosystems. Prep students created cosy homes for their favourite plants and animals, while Year 1 and 2 students designed imaginative survival habitats. Year 3/4 students modelled life and water cycles, explored how hot water changes coffee solids into liquids, and experimented with painting tones, abstract artworks, and layered landscapes using coffee as our medium. Our Year 5/6 students designed complex ecosystems accompanied by digital presentations.
This last week saw students dive into different types of modelling clay, experimenting with textures and sculpting techniques. The classroom has been buzzing with creativity—clay creatures, cardboard landscapes, and plenty of imagination as science and art continue to work hand in hand!
