Learning

and Teaching

Assessment and reporting are at the forefront of teachers’ thinking at this time of year. Every teacher is deeply committed to developing a comprehensive understanding of each student’s capabilities, growth, and capacity to demonstrate their skills across all areas of learning. It is both a privilege and a profound responsibility—one that our staff approach with professionalism, care, and unwavering dedication every single day, and particularly during assessment periods.

A heartfelt thank you to all staff for the consistent, high-quality teaching and the intentional support provided in every classroom. The learning that unfolds each day is the result of collective effort, shared commitment, and a deep belief in the potential of every child.

One of the guiding messages of Magnify Sandhurst this year has been “Know more, do better.” This sentiment has been embodied beautifully by our staff at St Mary’s. In the words of Dr Seuss:

“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose… And YOU are the one who’ll decide where to go.”

This echoes the spirit of professional curiosity and growth that defines our team.

With the recent Teach Well professional development attended by Vin and Ange, our staff now stand even more strongly aligned with the Science of Learning, StepLab coaching, Ochre Education, MultiLit, and the Knowledge Society. Together, these frameworks form a robust, evidence-informed, low-variance approach that strengthens instruction and ensures equity for every student.

As MAGNIFY Sandhurst continues to grow and shape teaching practice, we move confidently into exciting times ahead knowing that our students at St Mary’s are receiving the strongest foundations to achieve their very best.
