F/1/2 CLASSROOM

Our F/1/2 students have been deeply engaged in their learning this term and are showing wonderful enthusiasm across all areas of the curriculum. We are delighted to have Miss Talbot, a graduating student teacher, working in our classroom. She has already begun building warm and positive relationships with all students and is demonstrating excellent initiative in tracking and supporting individual learning progress. During her placement, Miss Talbot will focus particularly on Foundation Literacy and Numeracy and has set thoughtful and exciting learning goals for students to work towards.

In Religious Education, students have continued exploring the question “What makes me special?” This unit concluded with a beautiful activity where children created their own representations of how their unique gifts and talents radiate outwards to their families, friends, and wider community. Their reflections were thoughtful, heartfelt, and a joy to witness.

In Inquiry, students have completed their weather charts, observing patterns and changes in their environment, as well as exploring the rotation of the Earth and the Sun. They are now turning their attention to the stars, investigating how they have been used across time to understand direction, time, and place. This includes learning about the significance of the stars in the knowledge and cultural practices of Australia’s First Nations peoples.
