Berwick College continues to prove itself as a breeding ground for emerging AFL talent, with a growing number of students involved in elite Talent League development programs throughout 2025.

Rising Stars in Senior Levels

One standout is Molly Riemers (Year 12), who represented the Dandenong Stingrays U18 Girls squad in 2025. Molly played a key role throughout the season and helped her team reach the Talent League Grand Final — a remarkable achievement that reflects her dedication, resilience, and skill.

“Molly’s success is a reflection of her work ethic and commitment to the sport.”

Beyond Molly, Berwick College is fortunate to have several students making their mark across elite AFL development programs, demonstrating the depth of talent within our school community.

Marcus Krasnadamskis (Year 12) has also made significant progress in his AFL journey this year. Representing the Eastern Ranges in the Coates Talent League, Marcus has been praised for his athleticism and versatility as a mobile ruck.

His performances in 2025 earned him an invitation to the AFL State Combine, recognising his potential as one of the region’s most exciting emerging prospects. “Marcus’s ability to adapt and excel across two elite sports is truly inspiring.”

Emerging Year 11 Talent

Stephanie Dickson (Year 11) continues to impress with her commitment and development in the AFL pathway. She has been selected in the preseason squad for the Under 18 Gippsland Power and will find out next year if she secures a place on the final team. Stephanie’s achievement highlights her growing potential and determination to perform at the elite level.

Year 10 Talent Spotlight

The Year 10 cohort has also impressed with an extraordinary level of AFL pathway involvement. It’s rare to see so many students from one year level participating in elite development programs — a true credit to their commitment and love for the game.

Among the boys, Logan Stockx was selected for the 2025 V/Line Cup and is currently trialling for the Under 16 Dandenong Stingrays squad for 2026.

Jack Szybkowski, another talented Stingrays representative, has recently trialled for the Under 18 squad, while James Cross has taken part in Gippsland Power’s U16 in 2025 and hopes to be involved as selections for under 18’s 2026 are finalised. Gus Morey, also part of the Stingrays program, continues to work hard towards Under 18 selection for next year.

Our female footballers are equally impressive. Olive Henry has represented the Under 16 Stingrays and has been invited to trial for the Under 18 squad for preseason. Sienna Andrews has also received an invitation to trial, while Bailea Shipp and Annie Clish have both trained with the Under 18 Stingrays throughout 2025. In addition, Bailea and Annie proudly represented the Country Girls Under 16 team at the 2025 Marsh AFL National Development Championships — an outstanding accomplishment for both.

“The depth of talent within this year level is extraordinary — something rarely seen in one cohort.”

The standard of achievement across this group is exceptional, and their collective dedication to the sport is something the College takes great pride in.

Looking Ahead

Berwick College is proud to support and nurture the sporting ambitions of its students, and 2025 has seen an outstanding level of success across both senior and junior levels. From our year 12 leaders to our emerging year 10 stars, these young footballers continue to make strong strides in the elite development pathway.

“We look forward to seeing how these students continue to grow, compete, and represent our school community in the years ahead.”
