St. Patrick's Day Mass

On Friday, 20 March, a group of our Year 6 students had the wonderful opportunity to attend the St Patrick’s Day Mass at St Patrick’s Cathedral. It was a beautiful and reverent celebration of faith and a special occasion to gather with students from other Catholic schools. Following the Mass, students enjoyed time at a nearby park, where they played games and listened to live music together. We are extremely proud of the way our students represented St Mary’s with respect, enthusiasm and pride throughout the day.

Amelia Wood: I had an awesome day. It was so much fun, and one of my favourite parts was catching the train there and back because we had to hold on to the handrails attached to the roof of the train. At the train station, we went up the escalators, which were really steep. It felt like we were on a rollercoaster ride! Overall, I really enjoyed my day representing St Mary's.

Lily Goodyear: My favourite part of the day was when we got to hang out with all the different kids from other schools and see some of my friends. The music at the park was very good and was performed by different schools. We had so much fun and even got to dance!

Levi Norris: My highlight was the St Patrick's Day Mass. It was really interesting hearing the priest sing the Lord's Prayer.

Zac Cornish: My day was great. I really enjoyed the music during the Mass and singing along!

Gabi Vega: I really liked working together with Zara to carry the school banner into the cathedral. I had a little giggle when everyone was staring at us as we were walking in. I loved going to the park to listen to live music from high school students at other Catholic schools.

Zara Velasquez: I liked working with Gabi to carry the school banner in and represent St Mary's. I found the different parts of the Mass, the stained-glass windows and the cathedral architecture really interesting. It was a nice way to wrap up our day by heading to the park to listen to music and say hi to old friends. Overall, the day was a wonderful experience, and I would love to do something similar again!
