School Council

Hello,
For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Jessica Kaaden, and I was recently elected President of the Croydon Hills Primary School Council. I have two children at the school, Sammy in Grade 4 and Emily in Grade 1, and I have been a member of School Council for four years, as well as the parent association (CHAPS). As the saying goes, it takes a village to raise a child, and I feel privileged to be part of the Croydon Hills Primary School community and to serve in this capacity.
During my time as President, I would like to continue to foster and support a culture of parent involvement in our school. As a full-time executive, I appreciate the various ways parents can be involved at Croydon Hills Primary School - whether through CHAPS, helping with class reading, volunteering at an event, or donating easter eggs for the easter raffle. Every contribution strengthens our community and can help you and your children feel a sense of belonging. If you are interested in being more involved, or if you have any feedback on ways to increase involvement, you can often find me in the Prep area on a Friday morning (in line for coffee), and I will always welcome a chat.
I’d also like to acknowledge community discussion about the upcoming industrial action scheduled for Tuesday 24 March, which is expected to have a significant impact on staff attendance across public schools in Victoria. I understand from the school’s leadership team that they will have more information about the likely impact in the coming days, and will communicate with families as soon as they are able. I’m sure this will prompt further discussion within our community, and I would like to remind everyone of the school value of Respect, and ask that all communication with teachers and the school is in accordance with this value.
Thank you,
Jess
