Read through the document before your scheduled interview.

  2. Consult Your Child:

Ask your child what they are proud of,

What did they found difficult, and

Is there anything they want you to discuss with the teacher.

  3. Draft Questions:

Write down any questions you have for the classroom teacher

How to Discuss Reports with Teachers

When you meet with the teacher, you can clarify your understanding of the written comments with the following actionable steps:

  • Ask for examples of the child's work or specific areas of struggle.
  • Discuss how to best support your child's learning at home.
  • Ask about how your child is interacting socially and engaging in the classroom environment. [1]
