Exploring, Creating and Discovering In Year 1 / 2

Our Year 1 and Year 2 students recently enjoyed an exciting and engaging day of learning during the Dream City STEM Incursion. The incursion provided students with the opportunity to explore, investigate and discover through a range of hands on STEM experiences that sparked curiosity, excitement and wonder.

The incursion also served as a wonderful way to celebrate and extend our learning from this term's Content unit. Throughout the term, students have been developing their skills as scientists by observing, investigating, questioning and problem solving. The Dream City activities allowed students to make real world connections to many of the concepts and skills they have been exploring in the classroom.

Throughout the day, students rotated through three interactive workshops: Virtual Reality, Electronics Engineering and Sports Science. Each session encouraged students to think creatively, solve problems, work collaboratively and explore new technologies in a fun and meaningful way.

Students were amazed as they explored virtual worlds through Virtual Reality, investigated circuits and electronic components during Electronics Engineering, and discovered how science can help us understand movement, exercise and healthy lifestyles through Sports Science. There was plenty of excitement, laughter and learning as students explored new ideas and challenged themselves to think in different ways.

One of the highlights of the day was seeing students fully engaged in their learning. Students asked thoughtful questions, shared their ideas, supported one another and demonstrated persistence when faced with new challenges. It was wonderful to see so many students embracing opportunities to learn, create and discover.

The incursion also provided valuable opportunities for students to develop important skills such as teamwork, communication, critical thinking and problem solving. These skills are an important part of our learning across all curriculum areas and will continue to support students both in and beyond the classroom.

We are incredibly proud of the way our students represented Meadows Primary School. They participated enthusiastically, listened respectfully, worked cooperatively and approached each activity with a positive attitude and a willingness to have a go.

A sincere thank you to our families for their ongoing support. Your support helped make this wonderful learning opportunity possible for our students. We value the strong partnership between home and school and appreciate the many ways you support your child's learning and growth.

We would also like to thank Dream City team for delivering such an engaging and memorable learning experience. It was a fantastic way to celebrate our learning and inspire our students to continue exploring the world around them with curiosity and wonder.
