Year 8 Technology Mandatory – Materials Projects

This term, Mr. Thomas's Year 8 Technology Mandatory class have been exploring the properties and applications of timber materials and products in the woodwork workshop. As part of their practical learning, students designed and constructed a Timber Marble Game and a Ring Toss Game, using a variety of timber materials and construction techniques.

Throughout these projects, students developed their skills in the safe and correct use of a range of workshop hand tools and machinery while following workplace health and safety procedures. They were also encouraged to incorporate their own creative design ideas into each project, allowing them to personalise their work and demonstrate problem-solving and design skills.

The completed projects showcase the students' growing confidence, craftsmanship, and creativity, and they should be proud of the high standard of work they have achieved this term.
