FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK

As Term 2 draws to a close, I would like to reflect on what has been another busy and rewarding semester at Inverell High School and acknowledge the many outstanding achievements of our students.

Firstly, I am delighted to announce our 2026–2027 Student Representative Council Executive. Congratulations to the students who have been elected by their peers to represent the student body over the coming year.

Leadership is an opportunity to serve others, foster school spirit and make a positive contribution to our school community. I look forward to working with our newly elected leaders as they continue to build upon the outstanding work of previous SRC teams.

House and Sporting Champions

Congratulations also to Sturt House, who were crowned our overall House Champions for 2026. This is a wonderful achievement and reflects consistent participation, teamwork and determination across our major school carnivals throughout the year.

I would also like to congratulate all students who were recognised as Age Champions across our Swimming, Cross Country and Athletics Carnivals. Your performances demonstrated not only athletic ability but also commitment, perseverance and sportsmanship. Thank you to every student who participated in our sporting events and contributed to the positive house spirit that makes these occasions such memorable highlights of the school year.

Academic Assembly

On Wednesday, we celebrated academic excellence at our annual Semester 1 Academic Awards Ceremony. This ceremony provides an important opportunity to recognise the dedication, perseverance and commitment to learning demonstrated by our students throughout the first semester.

Academic achievement is about far more than receiving an award. It reflects the consistent effort, resilience and willingness to embrace challenges that underpin lifelong success. Every student who was recognised should be proud of their accomplishments, while also acknowledging the encouragement and support provided by their families and our dedicated staff.

At Inverell High School, our vision extends well beyond academic results. We want our students to leave our school with strong academic foundations, but also with curiosity, empathy, confidence and a genuine sense of purpose. We strive to develop lifelong learners who continue to grow, adapt and embrace new opportunities throughout their lives. Most importantly, we hope our students understand that true success is measured not only by personal achievement, but also by the positive difference they make in the lives of others and within their communities.

To all of our award recipients, congratulations on this well-deserved recognition. Your achievement reflects your commitment to learning and your willingness to strive for excellence. While this milestone deserves celebration, it is not the finish line. Rather, it is encouragement to continue setting high expectations, embracing new challenges and pursuing your personal best.

Safe Holidays

As we conclude another busy and successful term, I thank our students, staff and families for their ongoing commitment to making Inverell High School a place where every student is supported to learn, grow and achieve. I wish everyone a safe, enjoyable and well-earned holiday break and look forward to welcoming students back refreshed on Tuesday 21 July 2026 and ready for another exciting term of learning.
