NEWS AROUND THE SCHOOL
DISTRICTS CARNIVAL
What an amazing day it was on Monday! Our school came third overall and only missed winning by 7 points. Considering there were 8 points allocated for a win, you can see how close we are getting to one day taking out the Moorabbin District Title.
Despite a 30-minute burst of rain, the children soldiered on and had an absolute ball. They all tried their hearts out and the results were amazing. We achieved a feat of having a record 22 athletes qualify for the Kingston Division Carnival to be held on Thursday October 8 at Duncan Mckinnon once again.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the Grade 5 and 6 staff for helping train the students this year. In particular, many thanks go to Mr Crane and Miss Triplik for co-ordinating our wonderful new uniforms and assisting with lunchtime trainings including our very successful Relay afternoon practice at Rowans Rd. Thanks also to Mrs Angelides and Mr Corrigan for all your support for this team.
The biggest thanks and congratulations go to the students. We had a team of 78 young athletes who gave it their all and were pushed all the way by all the children who just missed the team after our successful House Athletics day held earlier in the year.
It just goes to show what a little extra practice can do. I'm really looking forward to Division Day but definitely looking forward to 2027 to see what we can do.

YEAR 3 HUMANITIES EXPO
On Wednesday 9th September, our Grade 3 classrooms came alive as students proudly welcomed families to our Humanities Expo!
Throughout the term, students worked collaboratively in teams to design and develop their very own cities, bringing together learning from across the curriculum. In Civics and Citizenship, students explored rules, laws, customs, rights and responsibilities and considered how these would help their cities function successfully.
Students then applied their English learning by writing detailed information reports about their cities. In Mathematics, they used their knowledge of 3D shapes, including prisms and pyramids, to design and construct impressive city models.
The Expo was a fantastic opportunity for students to showcase their creativity, collaboration and learning with families. It was wonderful to see students proudly explaining their ideas and sharing the incredible cities they had created.
