Homelessness Week
Our Mission leadership students welcomed Vikki and Jeremy from Centre Care last week. They shared stories about the reality of homelessness in our community. We thank them for taking the time to support us in building a genuine understanding of the impact homelessness has on people's lives.
Mission students also welcomed children from all year levels to origami workshops, held during recess over a number of days. Together, they created a colorful display that has been displayed at the Cathedral this week, aiming to educate and raise awareness of the vulnerability of those without stable homes.
St Vincent De Paul Winter Appeal Final call out for 'Tinnies for Vinnies'.
Our school is participating in the annual Vinnies Winter Appeal. We are collecting tins of food to share with those in need in our local community. All donations are gratefully accepted. We will be delivering them to our local St Vincent de Paul distribution centre in Week 4, so if you have a spare tin or two, please send them to school.
Confirmation
Students from our school, along with children across our parish, are preparing to celebrate the sacrament of Confirmation. This is the second of three sacraments of initiation into full membership of the Catholic Church.
Students and their parents are using the Let’s Celebrate program. The children meet at school each week to share the work that they are completing at home with their families.
As we endeavor to stay warm, please keep those less fortunate than us in mind, and be generous in any way that you can.
