Prefects' Update

A Big Term Ahead
From Nick Tancred, Head Prefect
It has been an incredibly busy holidays and first couple weeks for everyone in and around the school, but we have all settled in well and our Year 12s are working hard towards trials.
The holidays started with a group of rowers heading over to England to compete in the Henley Royal Regatta. They shared mixed success and by all accounts had an incredible time. This trip is a testament to the incredible depth of the students at Kinross, their ability to excel in and out of the classroom and the incredibly supportive and motivating the culture is at Kinross Wolaroi. This has also been reflected in a number of students being selected to represent both NSW and Australia in Rugby Union and Touch football which is an incredible achievement.
Whilst students are thriving on the sporting field, others have taken to the stage in Kinross Wolaroi’s annual production. Aladdin Jr was this year’s show, and it was a wonderful spectacle. After rehearsing for six months the company put on five shows over a week, selling out two shows and performing for both boarders and a mixture of prep school students. It was colourful, exciting, gripping and some would say tearjerking but regardless it was an incredible show that well and truly lived up to Kinross’s high standard of production.
Preparations for all different types of end-of-year functions are starting to heat up. The Year 12 students have a big three months in front of them, Graduation, Kinrosscars, Showcase and who could forget the trials and HSC. Despite the overwhelming presence of those life defining exams, they have a lot of fun to look forward to in the coming months are all looking forward to enjoying the last term together.
It has been a wonderful start to the term apart from the weather, yet the Prefects are really looking forward to continuing their initiatives in and around the school and working with the entire school community.
