Journeying Together in Christ

As I reflected on the past three weeks following our Term 3 CESL system leaders' day yesterday, I realised I could be sharing updates on student progress, staff accomplishments, or other milestones. But what’s been on my mind is the deeply pastoral role that Principals and staff play in our schools. Sometimes, our presence is what matters most.

At St Luke’s, we strive to be present—for you and your children—in meaningful and varied ways. While this support can be challenging at times, it’s something we genuinely value and remain committed to as educators.

CESL Leaders Day

There continues to be a real 'buzz' amongst our leaders. We have been on the MAGNIFY journey for nearly a year now (29th August 2025). Yesterday was all about rigorous expectations to improve student and educator growth based on a stable core. Words like, 'purpose over power', 'stabilise, reinvent, grow, lead'.

In the near future, I will invite parents to a one hour session so we can share insights from Jarrod Horvath-Cooney. We will most likely have a couple of different times/days.

Planning a holiday

If you intend on going away during the school term, please communicate this to the teacher, office and myself. We can suggest some things for you to continue while away for an extended period, but we do not set work or send resources with you.  As shared by educational experts and St Luke's staff, no learning at home should be new to the student.

Receiving the Sacraments

On the weekend of Friday-Sunday 15-17 of August many people in our parish will receive the sacraments of the Eucharist and Confirmation. We continue to keep them in our prayers.

We keep Tim Kelly, Meg O'Sullivan (Tim and Meg are siblings) and  Nibin Sebastian whose father's died in recent times. Alicia Niglia and Nicole Keenan buried grandparents in recent times.

We welcomed Michael Thomas on Day 1 of the Term. He will teach PE/Sport Wednesday-Friday. On Monday or Tuesday he will be in another class.

We welcome back Mr Summers later next week from Long Service Leave. He has been in the UK and Europe with his family. He ran into one of our Casual relief Teachers near Notre Dame Cathedral- small world!

ENROLMENTS 2026

If existing families have someone starting school in 2026, please ask the office staff for an application pack.  We will start interviews in the coming weeks. These should not be a stressful time. It helps us with planning for their orientation days and 2026.
