Wellbeing Term 3

In Year 5/6, we prioritise our children's wellbeing by following the School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) and Respectful Relationships programs. These programs help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where all children can thrive. This term, we’ll continue to build on key social and emotional skills such as respect, empathy, resilience, and positive decision-making. We will engage in regular discussions and activities designed to strengthen relationships, promote self-awareness, and develop strategies for managing emotions and resolving conflicts. These lessons are embedded in our daily routines and help support a positive and connected classroom culture.

Respectful Relationships:

This term, we will continue to follow Respectful Relationships programs to foster a safe and respectful environment for all children. Key themes will include stress management, help-seeking, and positive gender relations. We will explore strategies to manage stress and understand the importance of asking for help when needed. We will also engage in discussions and activities focused on healthy relationships, self-awareness, and positive communication. The 'Gender Norms and Stereotypes' unit will encourage our children to reflect on societal expectations and promote equality, while the 'Positive Gender Relations' unit will help us navigate respectful interactions. All of these lessons aim to support emotional well-being and develop skills for building healthy, respectful relationships with others.
