Upper Primary (Years 5-6)
Upper primary students have had a busy and productive start to Term 3. We began the term by taking part in a range of activities to celebrate NAIDOC Week, including an incursion where students listened to Dreamtime storytelling. This was a valuable opportunity to deepen our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. In class, we've also started exploring our new inquiry topic, Night and Day. To support this learning, we’re looking forward to an upcoming excursion to IMAX, which will further enrich our understanding of the topic. It’s been a positive and engaging start to the term.
Lower Secondary (Years 7-8)
After a refreshing two-week holiday, the Lower Secondary students have seamlessly re-acclimated to school life. To celebrate NAIDOC Week, they engaged in a variety of enriching activities that provided deeper insights into Indigenous cultures and histories. Highlights included a captivating Dreamtime Storytelling incursion, as well as hands-on experiences exploring Indigenous arts and crafts. The week offered a meaningful opportunity for students to learn about the rich history of First Nations people, fostering a greater appreciation for their heritage and contributions to our society.
Students also embarked on their Travel Education program with enthusiasm, starting off Term 3 with two exciting excursions, including a trip to a local park for lunch and a game of mini golf at Highpoint Shopping Centre.
