Wominjeka to OSHC
Coordinator: Alexis Simmonds and Assistant Coordinator: Sarah Emerson
Week 2 - 31st July 2025
The first two weeks of term 3 have flown by with lots of learning, creating, cooking and active games. Busy fingers have begun to learn the skill of sewing using felt and animal themed patterns brought in by one of our educators. Students have made a number of small felt animals each one becoming a little easier, we can’t wait to see what they make next.
Young chefs have made us cinnamon muffins, pizza and cheese and vegemite scrolls, shortbread and pufftaloons. Each one of these has been served up as a delicious little take home snack come pick up time.
Tying in with the F-2 PE program taking part in the Jump Rope for Heart initiative skipping ropes children have been eager to continue their practice at both Before Care and After Care. Students who had not previously been able to jump rope are now working on one legged jumps, the criss-cross and double jump. An amazing progression demonstrating that practice and persistence will see them improve in not only skipping but all areas.
And finally on the Wednesday 30th of July we celebrated OSHC Educators Day, acknowledging all the fantastic work our OSHC educators do in our programs. Their care, compassion and dedication to providing the students and families with a welcoming and enriching program is what makes the program so important making it the special place that it is. Huge thank you to Kate, Sam, Jas, Emily, Seth, Patrick, Victoria, Rowena, Lucy, Gemma and Arthur for being fantastic at what you do.
Wednesday 6th August is a Curriculum Day please send expressions of interest via email or phone OSHC. Final bookings Monday 4th August.
