A Message from Keir and Emma

“We would like to acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people, the first people to dream, create, wonder, dance, play and learn on this breathtaking land. This land was cared for and respected for tens of thousands of years. The First Nations people lived in companionship with the animals and the life on this land. We acknowledge that this is stolen land and we pay our respects to elders, past, present and emerging.”
Rayma Atkinson (2023 Suzanne Peterson Award Recipient)
Welcome Back
Welcome to Term 3 everyone. We hope you all enjoyed a restorative break and are ready for a busy term ahead. Although this term is only nine weeks, we have a lot of exciting events to look forward to. This week alone our school will be performing in the Wakakirri Story Dance Festival, our Foundation students will be celebrating their 100th day at school and on Saturday night we have the Winter Wonderland trivia night. What a great way to start the term! We’re looking forward to sharing these occasions with our students, families, and the wider school community.
Emma’s Absent Weeks Two to Four
Next week, Emma will begin a three-week placement at Docklands Primary School as part of her Master of Learning Intervention studies. While she is away, Alice Hamilton will be acting As Assistant Principal in her place (Monday) and Lilly Van Dyk will be acting as Assistant Principal (Tuesday to Friday). As Emma is normally the Learning Community Leader for our Foundation and Middle school students and their families, we have had to make different arrangements for the duration of her absence.
If any Foundie families require leadership support during this time should contact Team Leader Nici Fausten (nicole.fausten@education.vic.gov.au) or Lilly Van Dyk (lilly.vandyk@education.vic.gov.au)
Any Middle school families requiring leadership support at this time should contact Team Leader Lori Kirk (Lori.kirk@education.vic.gov.au) or Keir Jasper (keir.jasper@education.vic.gov.au)
School Council
We have had one of our parent representatives pull out of the School Council, and we need to fill this position with another parent or carer who is not an employee of the Education Department. Meetings happen in person twice a term on a Thursday evening. If you are interested in joining the School Council, and you are not an employee of the Education Department, please come and chat to Keir or Emma.
2026 Foundation Enrollments
If you have a child starting Foundation in 2026 and haven’t yet completed an enrolment form, please note that enrolments close this Friday, 25th July. After this date, we will begin contacting families of our 2026 Foundation cohort and start planning the transition process. We want to ensure that all our future Foundies are included in the full range of transition activities, so we encourage you to submit your enrolment before the deadline.
