Scouting in Lake Macquarie: Skills for Life, Right Here in Our Community
Scouting is more than camping and adventure — it’s a proven way for young people to develop resilience, confidence, and life skills that last. Independent research shows Scouts report stronger wellbeing, higher resilience, and better social outcomes than their peers.
Locally, young people aged 5–25 can join Scout Groups in West Wallsend, Teralba, Edgeworth and more. Every week, they take part in adventurous, fun, challenging and inclusive activities — from kayaking and hiking to leadership projects and community service.
Along the way, Scouts can also gain recognised certifications in areas like first aid, outdoor education, leadership, and the Duke of Edinburgh Award — giving them a head start for further education and future careers.
👉 Families are invited to come along and try Scouting with a free trial period.
