Prep
Congratulations to our Prep students who have celebrated 100 Days of Learning.
100 days of achievements, memories and milestones which our Preps have achieved individually and shared together. From mastering new skills, making new friends, and exploring new ideas, our students have shown incredible dedication and enthusiasm.
Our "grannies" enjoyed dressing up for the day, laughter, fun, a delicious cake and a dance party to get their "old bones" moving.
Here’s to 100 days of learning, laughter, fun, friendships and growth. We can’t wait to see what the rest of the school year brings.
Year 3 students become 'States of Matter' experts!
Our Year 3 students have started an exciting new science unit on Chemical Sciences, all about the states of matter: solids, liquids, and gases! The students will be investigating the properties of solids and liquids and learning how adding or removing heat can cause a change of state. They'll even learn how this knowledge connects to real-world processes like recycling.
In the first lesson, students were introduced to the three states of matter. They had a blast sorting different materials and developing their own definitions for solids, liquids, and gases based on what they observed.
Lesson two was a real treat, with students exploring how matter can change from one state to another. They used a flowchart to track the journey of an ice block as it melted into water and then turned into steam! They even learned how to turn the steam back into a liquid.
Most recently, our young scientists became 'heat detectives' in lesson three, where they explored how adding heat affects different types of matter. We've attached some great photos of their investigations! They made predictions, observed changes, and discussed the concept of "reversible" changes. This is just the beginning of their journey into the fascinating world of chemical sciences!
Year 4
Year 4 have had a fantastic start to Term 3, settling back into learning with enthusiasm. In science, students have been exploring the water cycle, linking prior learning on states of matter with new terminology and processes.
Year 4 are exploring fractions and elapsed time in Maths lessons and have also worked hard to complete their persuasive texts on deforestation in English. Year 4 students are excited about the upcoming Arts Festival and the range of activities and experiences this term brings.
Year 6
Year 6 students recently participated in the Live Life Whole Primary Wellbeing Workshop, focusing on confidence, resilience, and building positive relationships.Highlights included exploring how facial expressions and emotions can help us understand others, and practising ways to nurture meaningful connections.Students enjoyed engaging activities that encouraged teamwork, empathy, and active listening. They left the workshop feeling inspired and ready to use these strategies to strengthen their relationships and support their own wellbeing.
