Dear Parents,
Wow! Wow! Wow! The concerts yesterday were sensational. I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make our school concert such a memorable and inspiring event. From our talented children who performed with such enjoyment, energy and passion, to our dedicated staff who guided and supported them every step of the way — your hard work truly shone through. A special thank you also goes out to our families and friends for being such a supportive and enthusiastic audience. Events like this remind us of the power of the arts to bring people together, showcase creativity, and build community spirit. The joy, confidence, and pride we saw on stage was unforgettable. We have made memories that will last a very long time. Thank you, all.
This week we have celebrated Public Education Week. This year’s theme, ‘Ignite Your Potential’, provides a wonderful opportunity for our school to showcase how we spark curiosity, inspire learning and help every student thrive. Yesterday’s concerts demonstrated the incredible work our entire staff do every day to ensure our children are given opportunities to belong, believe and succeed.

We wish our Choir, Mrs Cafe and Mrs Datt all the very best as they travel to Sydney tomorrow to perform at the Sydney Opera House as part of the Choral Festival. Last week, I received an email from Paul Faulkner, Principal of Bedgerabong Public School, who recently had the privilege of working with the Western Open Rugby League Team which Cruz Fischbeck was a part of. He has sent me this in his email…….Congratulations to Cruz Fischbeck of Bathurst Public School who competed as a part of the Western team in the NSW PSSA Opens Rugby League carnival, held June17-19 at Hoxton Park in the Sydney South West School Sports area. The carnival included 13 Regional teams from all of NSW including Public, Catholic and Independent School systems. The Western team lead by coach Mr Ben Bruce of Wellington Public School, acquitted themselves tremendously well over the 3 days. Despite strong competition the team grew in confidence and cohesion each game, impressing coaches, parents and spectators with their resilience, determination and commitment to their teammates.
The Western team found themselves facing the host team in their first round and although able to match Sydney South West for most of the game found them too strong in the end. A win against North Coast was a highlight as were competitive games against Polding, Sydney North and South Coast.
Over the 3 days of the championships Cruz worked hard and showed a positive attitude in each and every game and should be commended and congratulated on his efforts throughout the carnival. A wonderful representative of Bathurst Public School – Cruz should be proud of his efforts and achievements with his high skills, team values and leadership on display for everyone to see.
Quade Peterson was named Western, Players’ Player of the tournament and was presented with his medallion by coach Bruce.
Thanks and congratulations should also go to all of the parents who not only took time from work and arranged for transport, but also cheered and supported the team each game, adding to the good nature of the carnival. With the calibre of the kids in this year’s Western Open team, rugby league and school sports, look in good shape for the future.
Congratulations, Cruz. Bathurst Public School are so proud of your achievements. A true leader on and off the field.
