BOOK WEEK

Get ready to Book an Adventure during Book Week 2025!

Book Week is just around the corner and this year’s theme is “Book an Adventure” – a celebration of the incredible journeys we can take through reading! It encourages us to open a book and discover new worlds, exciting characters and thrilling tales – without ever leaving home!

We are extremely happy to be celebrating a week of reading, creativity and imagination from Monday 18th to Friday 22 August

Book Character Parade – Friday 22 August, at 2:00pm

The highlights of the week. All students are encouraged to dress up as a favourite book character – this is a fun event for all ages!

Families and carers are warmly invited to attend.

Some costume ideas include: The Cat in the Hat, Where’s Wally?, The Rainbow Fish, Alice in Wonderland, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Dog Man, Bluey, Harry Potter, Matilda, Pinocchio, Little Red Riding Hood… Be creative – homemade costumes are most welcome!

Scholastic Book Fair – Wednesday, 20 August, 3:15–4:30pm

We are also excited to host our Scholastic Book Fair on Wednesday, 20 August, from 3:15 to 4:30pm in the Hall.

Important details:

  • All books will need to be ordered (they will not be taken home on the day).

  • Posters and novelty pens can be purchased and taken home during the Fair on the Wednesday afternoon event and cannot be ordered.

  • Students will preview the books in class time and create a Wish List to bring home and share with parents/carers.

  • Payments can be made online, with the receipt number and details recorded on the back of the Wish List.

  • Please highlight or circle the books being ordered on the Wish List and return it to your child’s class teacher.

  • The final day to return Wish Lists with receipt details is Thursday 21 August.

  • No cash will be accepted. Payments can be made either online in advance or by credit card at the Fair.

Support Our Library!

We would gladly accept any books purchased from the Book Fair as donations to our school library. A percentage of all books sold at the Scholastic Book Fair will go directly back to our school to support future library purchases.

We encourage all students to get involved in our Book Week celebrations by exploring new books, sharing stories at home, and letting their imaginations soar. Whether it is a far-off fantasy or a real-life tale, every book is an adventure waiting to be discovered. We cannot wait to see where your book adventures take you this year!

Let us inspire a love of reading together!
