From the Principal
Term 4 is well and truly underway at the College and its fantastic to see all of our staff and students rise to the challenges the end of the year brings!
Graduating Class of 2024
On Friday, 18 October our Year 12 Class of 2024 celebrated their graduation.
The day began with our annual Celebration Breakfast, where students enjoyed costumes and spent time with their teachers who had supported them on their Marian journey. This was followed by the Year 12 Graduation Assembly, where the entire school came together to congratulate and farewell our Year 12s.
In the afternoon, we gathered at St. Leopold’s for the Graduation Mass, honoring the Class of 2024. We thank Fr. Jude Pirotta for leading the ceremony and sharing words that beautifully reflected our community’s pride and hopes for our graduates. The celebrations concluded with a memorable Graduation Dinner at Club Italia, filled with great food, music, and lifelong memories for our Year 12s.
As our students prepare to transition to exams, apprenticeships, TAFE, or the workforce, I have reminded them that they will always be an essential part of the Marian College community. This is a pivotal moment in their lives, and we hold them especially close in our thoughts and prayers during this time. For some, Graduation may be the last occasion they gather as a class, making this transition both exciting and a bit daunting.
As they step away from the familiar comfort of school, let’s continue to support them with our prayers and positive thoughts. They are deserving of our encouragement as they embark on this new chapter. The persistence, dedication, and hard work shown by this cohort have been exceptional.
2025 Lamp Bearers & Student Representative Council
An important milestone at the College is the passing of the Lamp of Learning to the next generation of Lamp Bearer during the Graduation Assembly, its a right of passage at Marian and symbolises the changing of the guard.
It is with great pleasure that I congratulate the following students on their appointment as our 2025 Marian College Captains and Year 12 leaders:
Lamp Bearers - Leah Pikoulas and Alina Nguyen
Student Representative Council - Mary-Jane Pham Jolyne Tran, Swedal Gonsalves, Angel Brown.
Marian Art Exhibition 2024 -Thursday, October 24
At this year’s Art Exhibition, held under the theme of "Connectedness," I had the privilege of sharing thoughts on the important role an arts program plays in our College. Visual art serves as a catalyst for creativity, and creativity is the foundation of innovation. When students see their work displayed, they recognize that their ideas matter and are encouraged to think boldly and develop skills that will serve them across all areas of life.
Displaying student work instills pride and reinforces that their voices are unique and valued. This validation empowers them to share their perspectives and contributes to their growth in confidence.
The exhibition also creates a shared experience within our community. Students, teachers, and parents walking through the halls are exposed to diverse perspectives, cultures, and ideas. Art fosters understanding, acceptance, and mutual respect, building a connected and inclusive College environment.
Congratulations to everyone involved in this year’s exhibition. If families didn’t have the chance to view it this year, we warmly invite you to experience it in 2025.
World Teacher Day 2024
On Friday October 25 we celebrated World Teacher’s Day! We recognised the immense contributions of our teaching staff at Marian College, and we celebrated the passion, dedication, and commitment they show each day. In partnership with our families, our teachers work tirelessly to support and inspire our students, bringing their very best to the College every single day. To our wonderful teaching team, thank you for all that you do. Together with our families, we appreciate and applaud your efforts!
And finally, as we enter the month of November, a time of remembrance, we keep in our thoughts and prayers the loved ones who have touched our lives and the legacy they leave behind.
Dear Lord
As we gather in this month of remembrance, we take a moment to honor and remember those who have gone before us.
We thank You for the love and lessons they have shared with us, and we ask for Your comfort and peace for all who miss them.
May their memories inspire us to live with kindness, compassion, and gratitude.
Amen.
