Message from Principal Sarah

It’s hard to believe we are already halfway through Week 4 of Term 4. 

We have had another couple of busy weeks at NMPS with our Performing Arts Drumming and Dancing incursions happening across the school, as well as our Year 1 students attending their excursion to the Aquarium today. Tomorrow, we celebrate Diwali and then next week our Prep students will visit the Melbourne Zoo for their first school excursion. To wrap up the end of week 5, we will have our NMPS bi-annual Fete (see more information below and on the P&F page of this newsletter).

World Teachers’ Day

Last Friday we celebrated World Teachers’ Day. We wanted to again take this opportunity to say thank you for the incredible contributions teachers make to our community.

To all our dedicated teachers at North Melbourne Primary School, thank you for everything that you do, day in and day out. Thank you for always bringing your best to work and continuing to put our students first.

2025 Prep Transition Program

As shared in our last newsletter, we have started our Prep Transition Program with our 2025 Preps engaging in Story time sessions at our Molesworth Street Campus Library. It has been lovely to see how these students are already starting to settle into NMPS. 

Thank you to our current Prep team for their preparation and participation in these sessions. 

Our next 2025 Prep event is our Prep Information Night on Wednesday 6th November, followed by our first Prep transition session on Friday 15th November.

NMPS Fete

Not long to go now…next Friday 8th November we will be holding our bi-annual NMPS fete. 

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our Parents and Friends Association who has been extremely busy behind the scenes organising and preparing for next Friday. Thank you also to those that have volunteered their time to assist with running a stall on the evening. If you haven’t already volunteered and you are available to assist and have a current Working With Children Check, please head to our P&F page of this newsletter and sign up.

Upcoming Pupil Free Day & Public Holiday

Just a reminder that next Monday 4th November is a Pupil Free Day followed by the Melbourne Cup Holiday on Tuesday 5th November. We hope everyone enjoys the long weekend!
