School Sport

Athletics

43 children represented Resurrection school at the Noble Park District Athletics last term. All the children worked really hard on their training in the weeks leading up to the event. We did really well on the day coming away with lots of ribbons and winning the District trophy,  being the highest scoring school.  Well done to everyone who competed, which contributed to Resurrections total points on the day.  26 students, who came 1st or 2nd, made it through to the next round - Greater Dandenong Division Athletics competition which was held the week later.

13 students then made it through to the South East Regional Athletics competition.  This was a really competitive event with some outstanding athletes.  Our boys and girls did really well on the day and had a great experience.  Our most successful athlete ever at Resurrection was Melody who came 1st in the Discus.  She then went on to compete at Albert Park in the State Athletics competition where she came 4th.  This is an incredible achievement being the 4th best in the whole state of Victoria - Well done Melody!

Division Tennis

Well done to the Girls Tennis team, who competed in the Greater Dandenong Division Tennis competition last week and won.  They now go to the Regional competition in Pakenham next week.  Good luck girls.

Division Cricket

Well done to the Cricket A team, who competed in the Greater Dandenong Division Cricket competition last week and won.  They now go to the Regional competition in Mount Martha next week.  Good luck boys.

Netball Clinics

We are so lucky at Resurrection school to get so many Senior schools nad local clubs/associations wanting to come in and deliver clinics to our children.  SEDA College often come in to AFL, Cricket, Netball and Basketball clinics.  Here are some picture from the Netball clinics recently delivered in school.

Play Club

Play Club is still running strong at Resurrection, but we are in desperate need of more materials and equipment for the children to play with.  Play and build club is still going strong - seeing lots of children in Prep, Years 1 and 2 come to use the natural and loose play equipment we have on offer.  Our Mud kitchens are getting quite run down now as we have nowhere to protect them from the weather.  If you know of anything that will help with this, or have any more we can use, please let us know.

Play Club is a place where children can build, imagine and PLAY.  There are no instructions or teaching going on and no rules (accept for our RESKEYS of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience). It is a place for the children to create, build, play imaginatively and just be themselves!  Studies have shown that play builds key aspects of children's brain development as well as being a healthy lifestyle activity, it also grows confidence in young people as well as helps connects individuals and communities.

If you have any great equipment which can be used for the children to play with at our club please bring it in to reception.  Below is a list of recommended items (please, nothing that can break easily):

Planks of wood

Sturdy crates

Stainless steal pots, pans and utensils

Plastic cups, bowls, plates and utensils

Rope

Ground sheets

Thick pipes

Unbroken pipes

Buckets and spades

Baking trays

Kitchen untensils

 Thank you
