Kingston District Girls Soccer Day
A fantastic group of Grade 6 girls participated in the Kingston District Girls Soccer Day on Thursday, June 5th. It was an exciting event with ten teams from our district competing throughout the day.
Our girls kicked off with a brilliant 3-0 victory against Mentone Girls Grammar in their first match. The second game ended in a scoreless draw against OLA, who ultimately clinched the title and will now represent our district at divisions. In their third match, they battled to a 1-1 draw against LePage. The fourth game also ended in a draw, 0-0, against Christway/Cheltenham.
Throughout the day, Grace and Arya showed exceptional leadership as captains. Sophie, Grace, and Charley stood out as our top goal scorers, while Indi, Ira, and Pearl anchored a strong defence line. Kasey, Grace, and Charley demonstrated excellent goalkeeping skills, and Bella was instrumental in the fast-paced midfield.
In the finals for third and fourth place, our team narrowly lost 1-0 to Mentone Grammar, securing a commendable 4th place overall. Congratulations to OLA for claiming 1st place and Cheltenham for securing 2nd place.
Well done to all the girls of the CEPS soccer team for their hard work and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. We missed Jennifer, Agrata, and Maya, who were unfortunately unwell and couldn't join us on the day
