Dear Sacred Heart Community, 

A Prayer for Faith, Love, and Hope

Loving God, 

We thank You for the gift of this day and the many blessings You place in our lives.

Fill our hearts with faith, that we may trust in Your goodness even when the path is unclear. Strengthen us with hope, that we may look forward with courage and joy, knowing You walk beside us. Guide us to live with love, that our actions may reflect Your light and bring peace to those around us.

May our school be a place where faith is nurtured, love is shared, and hope grows strong in every heart. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord.

First Eucharist Celebration – Sunday 25th May 2025             

This Sunday, 25th May, at our 10:30am Parish Mass, we are joyfully celebrating a very special occasion as some of our students receive their First Eucharist.

We pray for them as they take this important step in their faith journey. A heartfelt thank you to Kate, Marie, Denise, James, and our dedicated teachers for their care and guidance. We also thank the families for the important role they have played in preparing the children for this beautiful celebration of faith.

Thank you also to the students in our school choir, who will be supporting their peers by singing a reflective song during the Mass. Your presence and voices will help make this celebration truly memorable.

May this be a day filled with faith, love, and joy.

Annual Action Plan Overview

At our recent School Board meeting, an update on the 2025 Annual Action Plan (AAP) was shared. The Board suggested providing this overview to keep the whole school community informed about our key focus areas.

This year, our goals have been refined to be more specific, measurable, and clearly aligned with the school’s priorities. Each goal includes targets, evidence-based strategies, clear actions, timelines, and assigned responsibilities to ensure effective support and progress monitoring.

Our commitment remains strong to improving outcomes for every student from Foundation to Year 6 and to building a consistent, high-quality learning environment across all year levels.

Our 2025 Goals are:

⭐ Mathematics: To improve student achievement in mathematics, with a focus on the use of efficient strategies to solve worded problems.

⭐ Writing: To improve student achievement in writing by enhancing students’ use of contextual vocabulary to create texts for specific purposes and audiences.

⭐ Reading: To improve student achievement in phonics acquisition and word knowledge in the junior years.

⭐ Wellbeing: To deepen our understanding of, and maintain consistency in, our approach to high expectations, student engagement, and strong teacher-student relationships across the school.

We look forward to continuing to support every child’s learning and wellbeing, and fostering excellence in teaching and learning at every level.

📚 Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge

The Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge is now underway. Students are encouraged to discover new books, develop their love of reading, and reach their personal reading goals.
