FRENCH
Grade 1/2L
The students have finished their paper puppets for their portfolios. They look very cute.
Grades 2/3S and 3/4P
The students are working in teams to draw and label scenes from the cavemen era. Using the vocabulary learnt in class this semester, they are now able to write simple sentences with a subject, a verb and an adjective.
Grades 5/6
This week, the girls are working together to start learning the French song that they will present at assembly next Term. It is 'Ma meilleure ennemie' (My best enemy) sung by Stromae and Pomme. This song, from the animated series 'Arcane', is very popular all around the world at the moment.
The boys have a hard song to learn this year but they are ready for the challenge. "Meleğim" ('My angel' in Arabic) is a song by the French-Algerian singer Soolking, featuring the French singer Dadju.
PE
It was a wonderful 3/4 PE session with our special visitors during Grandparents morning. We enjoyed throwing frisbees, hula hooping, using skipping ropes and playing Ludo.
Last week the students in 5/6 displayed resilience, perserverance and teamwork during the Basketball Gala. All 7 teams played their best with many teams finishing in the top 5.
Students from prep to grade 6 have been working on their ball skills - bouncing, passing and shooting.
KITCHEN/GARDEN
5/6C enjoyed a Mexican theme in the kitchen last week. They made nachos, guacamole, salsa and BBQ corn. They also worked together to cook some stewing apples that were generously grown and donated by the Michalski family. Their team effort to organise the stewing of the apples without formal instructions was to be commended and the result was delicious!
