This week in Prep!

Literacy

This week, we had a fantastic time celebrating Milo Monkey’s Birthday Party! We were so impressed by all the creative costumes during our costume parade, where students showed great courage and imagination. The fun continued with a game of “Pin the Tail on the Monkey,” followed by a lively game of pass the parcel – played with Lucky’s Dad’s special rules from Bluey. Congratulations to Joaquin and Zion, our lucky pass the parcel winners! A huge thank you to all the families who contributed delicious food – the students loved sharing the celebration meal together.

In writing, we enjoyed reflecting on the long weekend by sharing recounts of what we ate, where we went, and what we enjoyed most. We’ve also been exploring our favourite books, discussing stories in detail, and using them as inspiration to create our own imaginative writing pieces.

Maths

Our maths focus this week has been money again! We have been learning to recognise coins, adding different coins together, and reading prices to understand how much things cost. We’ve also talked about what money is used for in everyday life. Students are developing their reasoning skills and using maths vocabulary to explain their thinking with confidence.

• We truly appreciate all the families who have kept their children home when they’re feeling unwell. Giving our little ones the time and rest they need to fully recover helps keep everyone healthy and happy.
