Let's Celebrate!

This afternoon we have officially filled our Celebration Tree with 40 Birds! Congratulations to all our students for showing so much Compassion, Creativity, Ambition and Courage this term!

Our Junior School Councillors will meet in coming days to decide how to celebrate as a whole school. We will communicate with parents and carers as soon as we know more!

School Uniform

Correct Uniform

As we settle into the colder months, we would like to remind families of the importance of ensuring all students come to school each day in full school uniform.

Recently, we have noticed an increasing number of students wearing clothing that is not in line with our school colours. While we understand the need for additional warmth during the colder mornings—and we support the use of parkas or warm jackets that may not be part of the official uniform—we kindly ask that all other clothing items adhere to our uniform guidelines wherever possible.

Please Name Uniform Items

We also encourage families to label all uniform items clearly with your child’s name. As students often remove extra layers during the day, particularly when playing outside in the sunshine, many of these items are being left behind and added to our lost property collection. Clearly labelled clothing helps ensure lost items can be returned promptly.

Thank you for your ongoing support in helping us maintain a sense of pride and unity in our school community.

Would you like to join a Box Hill North School Council Sub Committee?

We are calling on people within our community to join our 2025 School Council Sub-Committees. At Box Hill North we have Sub-Committees in order to assist the work of School Council by exploring key strategic issues in more detail than is possible at a School Council meeting. These Sub-Committees provide opportunities to involve and utilise the expertise and experiences of members of the school community (and wider community) who are not members of school council.

There are four sub-committees at Box Hill North:

  • Education Committee
  • Finance Committee
  • Buildings & Grounds Committee
  • Events Committee (previously the Parents Association)

Education Committee

This group of parents and teachers manage the process of creating and reviewing policies which guide the work of the school and respond to government requirements and initiatives. Education committee provides a means of informing the school community about the schools approach and structure to teaching and learning.

Finance Committee

This committee oversees the management of school finances and ensures there is good governance and responsible administration of the financial resources of the school. This committee organises the operational budget of the school, monitors revenue and expenditure and manages the resources available via government funding, parent contributions, grants, fundraising and school operations such as Their Care and Canteen.

Buildings and Grounds Committee

This group of volunteers manages maintenance of buildings and grounds works. It manages a prioritised jobs list of works and projects aimed at maintaining a safe, enjoyable and pleasing environment for children and families. The organisation of working bees is a major function along with coordinating the assistance of volunteers in support of garden work and maintenance and repair works.

Events Committee

The Events Team supports the life of the school by organising fundraising and social events. The Events Team supports the ongoing work of improving the school experience of children and families through fundraising activities. The team also provides the school community with opportunities to meet socially and enjoy the company of other parents.

Please complete the below form to express your interest in one or more of these School Council Sub-Committees. If you have any questions, feel free to chat to Anna or Ainslie.
