On Monday during our whole school assembly, the following students were acknowledged and their learning described so we all know why they are worthy recipients of our awards and applause.

You enthusiastically share your ideas and wonderful interest in exploring new concepts, especially during our Inquiry lessons about farming. Lukas is always the first to offer care and friendship to his peers with his cheerful attitude and big smile – you're a fantastic role model, Lukas! Prep A is very lucky to have you. |
1C | Diya | For being a motivated learner who consistently listens carefully to instructions and gets started on tasks straight away. She actively participates in whole class learning, regularly raising her hand to contribute thoughtful and valuable ideas. Diya's positive attitude and enthusiasm for learning make her a fantastic role model for others. Well done, Diya! |
1O | Finn | For showing wonderful curiosity during our ‘Mad About Science’ incursion last week! You listened carefully, asked thoughtful questions, and showed a real interest in what we were learning. You joined in every experiment with enthusiasm and were a great team member when conducting experiments in our groups. Well done, Finn — you're a science whiz! |

During our science incursion, you were especially engaged—asking thoughtful questions, paying close attention, and conducting experiments. 2A | Ezra | For being a creative learner particularly during our reconciliation week incursion. Your boomerang design was so thoughtful, you retold the story of your families hike in the mountains through aboriginal symbols. I was so impressed with your insights! Well done Ezra you are a star! |
3/4LM | Jazmin | For being a motivated learner who has transitioned into 3/ 4 LM with enthusiasm, positivity and a love of learning. Jazmin has made many new friends at SMDP and contributes to whole class discussions with confidence. Jazmin takes time to complete tasks and is always proud of her presentation. Jazmin has displayed a great energy, a friendly manner and a respectful attitude. It’s so impressive the way Jazmin has settled into her new community. Well done! We are happy to have you at SMDP! |
3/4K | Akul | For being a reflective and driven learner. You considered what was and wasn’t working in your learning habits, then you communicated your observations respectfully with both your peers and teacher. You’ve now been implementing more effective strategies to support your learning, and it’s already making a difference. Keep up this reflective nature, you are setting yourself up for success Akul! |
3/4N | Havish | For being a curious and enthusiastic learner during our science investigation on dissolving materials. 5/6S | Olivia | For being a creative learner. You are open to new ideas and have a great imagination! An example of this is the way you have designed your playdough business, taking responsibility and showing initiative for all aspects of the planning, including the recipe, packaging and advertising! 5/6D | Mandela | For being a reflective learner during writing sessions. He set himself a personal writing goal to seek feedback on his writing to help him improve. Mandela listens carefully to suggestions and uses them to revise and strengthen his work. His commitment to reflecting on his progress and making changes shows he is taking responsibility for his learning and striving to be the best writer he can be. Well done, Mandela! |
5/6A | Aarav | For being a collaborative learner who has taken a leading role in the inquiry group project, encouraging his peers to work together effectively and stay focused on their shared goals. He also volunteered his time to support others, helping classmates navigate challenging aspects of Canva to create their posters and business cards.
